Canadian
Woodworker Ltd. has been a family owned and operated business in Winnipeg Manitoba,
Canada for over 34 years now. Operated by the second generation of the Moore family,
Canadian Woodworker specializes in the sales of high quality woodworking machinery,
hand tools and supplies. Back in 1967, with over 20 years of knowledge and experience
in the machinery and abrasives business, Mel Moore purchased a primarily saw sharpening
and industrial supply business from Fred Borton and began his dream of becoming
a successful woodworking machinery and supply company.
Originally operating as Borton's Saw Service, Canadian Woodworker is now owned
and operated by Mel's Son and daughter Cole Moore and Erin Taylor. Both Cole and
Erin have been working in the company full time for over 20 years, and even more
if you count the child labor in counting inventories, painting washrooms, opening
mail, emptying garbage etc.
Our company operates with two distinct divisions with one specializing in the
retail side of the woodworking business and the other in the industrial side.
The retail side of the business specializes in hand tools, power tools, and machinery
for the woodworking hobbyist who likes to work with high quality tools. In the
store we carry over 700 titles of woodworking books, the Woodsmith, and Winfield
Collection plans, Garnet Hall Intarsia patterns, Pfiel, and Foredom, carving tools,
Marples, and Oneway lathe tools and of course tool lines like Delta, Porter-Cable,
General, Hitachi, Excalibur, Biesemeyer, King, Adjustable Clamp, CMT, Olson and
Whiteside.
On the industrial side we are very strong in industrial abrasives
and in woodworking machinery. We carry abrasive lines like 3M, Klingspor,
Mirka, and machinery like General Mfg., General International, Ritter,
Brandt, Edgemaster, Denray, and Beaver and Master Power air tools. For
our web site we have decided that for now we would concentrate on
our machinery and accessories which are very high in quality but maybe
aren't as well marketed throughout North America. If you are interested
in tools we have not yet listed on-line from any of our suppliers,
please e-mail us and we will happily quote you on your needs. We also
would like you to know that if you are setting up a whole shop of
equipment for yourself or a school or you are just looking for a number
of machines and accessories, please e-mail us with your requirements
and we will quote you on a special package deal. Quite often on large
orders we can find some savings in shipping costs, quantity pricing,
handling costs etc. which we will gladly pass on to you.
Please enjoy your trip through our site and if you find you have any suggestions
or questions, e-mail us at feedback@canadianwoodworker.com.
