The SVD-110 Tool Rest allows you to rest tools on a larger surface while sharpening.
This works with larger, specialized tools like round scarpers, hollowing tools, screwdrivers, curved drawing knives, and much more. Either way, the SVD-110 Tool Rest attaches to the universal support for worry-free precision sharpening.
Unfortunately, not all tools fit jigs. That’s why the SVD-110 Tool Rest has a large surface area (90x110mm or 3 ½ x 4 ⅜”) to hold your tools firmly against the grinding wheel. You can set the position of the SVD-110 Tool Rest against or with the direction of the grinding wheel.

Designed for stability
Scrapers often have a fairly large angle, which can make sharpening hard to control. That’s why the SVD-110 Tool Rest has a generous 90×110 mm (3 1/2″ × 4 3/8″) surface area, allowing you to hold the tool firmly and securely against the grinding wheel. The hole where you attach the tool rest has a special wedge shape which increases the locking force by as much as 250% compared to a round hole. You can lock the tool rest instantly at the selected angle. The unique TorLock design is patented by Tormek.
Simple but versatile
The SVD-110 Tool Rest can be used both with and against the direction of rotation of the grinding wheel. It can also be positioned so that you can use the flat side of the grinding wheel when sharpening card scrapers, for example. Many hard-to-sharpen tools that don’t fit in any other jig or have unusual sharpening angles can be sharpened using the SVD-110 Tool Rest, in a number of other positions with a little creativity.
