The Stinger VenomBlue high-performance coated mortise compression router bits are designed for exceptionally fast feed rates and long tool life. These bits are specially designed to be used on production CNC routers for panel processing in kitchen cabinet and closet manufacturing as well as general millwork applications.

The design of a compression router bit features a combination of both an up and down spiral, resulting in clean cuts both the top and bottom edges a variety of materials. On a mortise compression cutter, the upcut geometry is only .188”, allowing you to use this tool to create dados as shallow of .25”. This can be useful if you are short on space in your CNC machines tool tray or don’t have an automatic tool changer CNC.

This traditional mortise compression cutter is specially designed to be used with double sided melamine and other laminated particle board materials. It results in high quality cuts on MDF core materials as well, but due to the highly abrasive nature of MDF, you will not get the same tool life as you would on Melamine. If you process a high volume of MDF, you may want to look at a PCD cutter instead.

While you may find it inconvenient to have multiple cutting bits in your tooling line up, using the right bit for the job will increase tool life and result in lower tooling costs long term.

The Stinger Mortice compression cutters come equipped with our VenomBlue coating. This AlTiSiN-B coating acts like a lubricant and drastically reduces the friction between cutter and material. When your feedrate and RPM are optimized, this coating can extend the tool life by up to 5x when comparing to the uncoated alternatives. With the combination of the VenomBlue coating and the extremely high quality KCR05+ German carbide, these high quality bits offer the superb cut quality of a two flute bit, while offering the high cutting speed of a three flute bit.

Material: High Quality German NanoGrain KCR05+ Carbide (97% Tungsten Carbide, 3% Cobalt)

VenomBlue’s NanoGrain carbide grade is known for extremely high hardness and superior wear resistance. KCR05+ is selected for its ability to maintain a sharp edge under high thermal stress and abrasive conditions. With a grain size of less than 2 nanometers, this carbide structure has a higher hardness than almost all other competing carbide bits available that normally feature a grain size of 0.5 – 0.8 nanometers.

Grain Size: < 0.2 μm

Hardness: 94.4 ~ 94.5

Density: 15.25 g/cm3

This premium tool material is designed for use at high speeds.

Recommended 20,000 RPM with feed rate of 28-34m/m

KCR05+ has an extremely high hardness however offers very little flexibility. Any instability, vibration, or improper setup may easily result in tool breakage.

Runout inspection before machining is very important. Ensuring proper installation and alignment provides a more stable working environment for the tool and helps minimize potential issues during cutting, while also improving tool performance and lifespan. When using ER collets, we recommend maintaining the runout within 10 μm (0.01 mm) If the measured runout exceeds this limit, we recommend immediately replacing the collet.

Coating: AlTiSiN-B (Aluminum Titanium Silicon Nitride with Boron)

An advanced PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating designed for extreme high-speed, dry-cutting, and hard-machining applications, offering superior hardness, thermal stability and oxidation resistance. It often outperforms standard AlTiN and AlTiSiN coatings by providing enhanced lubrication, lower friction, and higher wear resistance.

Enhanced Performance: The inclusion of Silicon (forms a nanocomposite structure, increasing hardness, while Boron (improves lubricating properties and reduces the wear rate.

High Thermal Stability: Withstands high temperatures, making it ideal for dry cutting and preventing edge deformation in hard materials.

Increased Productivity: Allows for faster cutting speeds and higher feed rates, resulting in reduced machining time and lower costs.

Specifications:

Cutting Depth: 7/8″

Oxidation Temperature: 1100 Deg. C

Surface Hardness (HV): 3500

Friction Coefficient: 0.45

Coating Thickness (μm): 1~4

Extends tool life up to 5x compared to an uncoated tool

The cutting edge of this mortise compression cutter offers chip breakers, making it the perfect choice for Plywood core materials. When using a standard compression cutter on plywood, you will notice long, stringy chips in your dust collection and will find the edge of the plywood gets torn out instead of a nice clean cut. The segmented flute design breaks the chips up into smaller pieces, creating a fantastic edge for plywood core materials.

The Wave Cutter Forstner bits hand forged in Austria by family owned Fisch Cutting Tools are truly in a class of their own as a premium tool for woodworkers. Fisch’s Wave Cutter Forstner bits feature a wavy rim that guides the bit with all the precision of a traditional Forstner, but with less friction and heat buildup. The razor sharp serrations slice through the grain for minimal splintering, while also breaking up the waste for better chip clearance. The result is a bit that cuts faster and lasts up to three times as long as a standard Forstner bit. Use them to drill angled holes, overlapping holes and flat-bottom holes that are precisely true-to-size. They also excel at drilling into end grain without deflecting.

When choosing a forstner bit there are generally three styles of cutting edges, smooth edge, saw tooth edge and wavy edge. There are many choices of lower cost forstner bits and all will cut flat bottom holes but there are differences in the cut when using different styles and qualities of bit. The smooth edge bits tend to heat up in the cut so the user is limited to only a couple holes at a time and shallow cuts. These bits tend to have the shortest lifespan. The saw tooth bits stay cooler cutting but because there are teeth all around the outside edge they can in certain drilling operations pull to one side or another causing less accurate hole drilling. The Wave design used by Fisch allows the bit to drill very clean accurate holes with very little heat buildup therefore increasing the life of the bits. There have been tests done drilling hundreds of holes in hardwoods with a single Fisch Wave bits to try to heat it up or dull it and it was still able to drill fresh precision holes in delicate materials.

This seven piece kit provides a selction of bits from 1/4″ to 1″, perfect for small precision hole cutting. Woodworkers will love using these premium tools.

Features:

Included in kit are Drill Bit Diameters: 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2” 5/8”, 3/4”, 7/8”, 1”

Hand Forged

Wavy rim cuts like a knife to guide the bit and keep it on track

Serrations help to break up waste for better chip clearance

Low-friction and less heat for longer life

Resharpen up to 30 times for excellent longevity

All bits are 90mm (3-1/2”) long

The Stallion XS Series (Xtra Special) 14” Band Saws are engineered by CWI Woodworking Technologies to be the ultimate in 14” bandsaws available anywhere today. Built for woodworkers and educational users who demand power, safety, precision, and long-term reliability in a professional-grade cutting machine. We offer the XS 14” bandsaw with two power options, 1.75 HP in 110 volt or a slightly more powerful 2 HP model, running on 220 volt power. Users will be amazed at the power, smoothness and features these saws offer compared to any other brand of bandsaw.

The XS series bandsaws deliver consistent performance for everything from fine curve-cutting to heavy resawing applications with an admirable 13” cutting height, while utilizing common sized 117” bandsaw blades. The machine’s extra robust 14″ solid cast-iron wheels provide exceptional inertia and vibration dampening, improving cut stability and overall smoothness.

Bandsaw Safety:

Whether being used at home or in a commercial or educational shop, every detail of the XS bandsaws is designed to provide the ultimate in safety for all users. Not only are both doors protected with Omron safety switches, the XS saws are the first 14” bandsaws to offer keyed, lockable doors. With the use of the micro switches, the machine cannot be operated if either of the doors are left open. Having keyed locks on both doors gives the user the option to lock out access to the machines inner workings, creating a secure operating environment without sacrificing convenience for blade changes or maintenance.

The rack and pinion, adjustable height blade guard, fully encloses the blades on all sides maximizing operator safety. The XS machines are operated with a magnetic safety switch assembly with on/off and a keyed lockable emergency stop button. Having the keyed lockable E-Stop allows users to lock out the operation of the machine when not in use. Using a magnetic safety switch means that if power is lost to the machine, it cannot start up again without the operator pushing the start button.

Also included on the XS Series bandsaw is an emergency stop foot brake system that utilizes Shunan disc brakes, which allows the user to shut down operation instantly when needed.

Performance Features:

For resaw work, the saws come outfitted with a deluxe, dual position, (short/tall) 6″ resaw fence and T-Square rail system, ensuring straight, repeatable cuts even on challenging stock. The generously sized 21″ x 17″ cast table, tilting from 0 to 45 degrees, gives operators the space and flexibility required for bevel cuts, compound angles, and larger workpieces.

To keep the workspace clean and efficient, the Stallion XS saws integrate a dual dust outlet system with one port directly enclosing the blade area under the table, and a second 4″ port at the base of the lower cabinet, allowing the machine to be very adaptable for dust removal.

The Xtra Special dual ball bearing blade guides are a fully “tool less”, simple to adjust guide system. Simply loosen the locking thumb screw and rotate the eccentric adjust bearing left or right and re-tighten when in position. The rear bearing is adjusted the same way with the face of the bearing, not the side of the bearing, providing support to the blade. To remove or install blades the XS machines are featured with a quick release tension arm, making for simple blade changes. Tension adjustments are performed at the top of the machine with a large four wing adjustment wheel. Adjustments for tracking the blade, locking the blade guide height, and adjusting the blade guide height are all provided with large easy to use machined handwheels. There are two viewing windows for easier blade adjustments.

For better sightlines while working the machine, a Nikki LED light strip with its own on/off switch is standard equipment to brighten the entire working area.

Included Extra Features:

The saw is standard equipped with an “extra wide-base” heavy-duty mobility kit, allowing easy relocation around the shop without compromising stability during use. Additional premium features—such as the deluxe miter gauge and integrated LED work light come standard, adding value and convenience right out of the crate.

With a net weight of 148 kg and a shipping weight of 172 kg, the band saw is built for strength and durability without being unmanageable.

Scorpion jointers, thickness planers and combination machines are built by CWI Woodworking Technologies to be best in class machinery with the features, performance and quality that serious woodworkers are looking for whether in the hobby, educational or industrial woodworking industries. You will find our machines to have more cast iron, better cutters, easier adjustments, longer tables and superior quality to all competitors.

The CWI-P0721HC is built for educational and commercial users looking for a machine with big capacities and great features and can be purchased in single phase or three phase power. The P0721HC offers a 7.5 HP main motor which drives a 4.75” diameter Stinger Carbide helical cutter head to machine lumber at up to 1/4” at each pass. The Stinger carbide helical cutter head has 8 rows of 15mm x 15mm x 2.5mm square four sided convex edge carbide knives for a total of 169 knives. When an edge of a knife gets dull or damaged simply remove the locking screw and rotate the knife to a new edge. We find under normal wear and tear customers will get one to two years of performance from each edge of knife. The top lid of the machine is hinged to easily lift up and out of the way to maintain knives or make adjustments to the rollers and is covered by a protective carpet.

The 8 rows of knives provide more knife cuts per inch, better overlap of the knives for less knife marks in the wood and virtually zero tear out even on the most difficult to thickness woods. Our Stinger Carbide helical cutter heads are renowned for ease of maintenance, quality of cut, and sound levels so pleasant you almost forget the machine is running.

To feed the wood through the machine the Scorpion P0721HC has a 3/4 HP feed motor with a variable speed inverter with digital readout. Simply dial in the speed you need from 13 FPM for slow fine cuts or ramp it up to 52 FPM for high production work. The P0721HC planer has a sectional infeed roller system to ensure a very good grip and a dual outfeed roller set up to almost eliminate sniping issues. That’s right….two steel outfeed rollers for excellent work piece support …not just one like most competitors. For added safety anti-kickback fingers are present in front of the feed rollers.

The sectional infeed roller is very importantly for safety reasons as well as a vast increase in production capabilities over a standard one piece infeed roller. Each individual section of the infeed roller adjusts for different thicknesses of wood ensuring a firm grip on each piece of wood. This allows users to put multiple boards through the machine at a time. Traditional solid steel or rubber infeed rollers will lift to the thickness of the thicker board allowing the danger of the thinner board to be ruined or worse…thrown right out of the machine.

The Scorpion precision ground cast iron table is 21” x 39.25” of surface area which is supported by four height adjustment pillars. On the surface of the table are two adjustable table rollers to help the feeding of rough lumber. A simple hand lever adjustment is used to set the appropriate height of the rollers.

The table is operated by a push button control panel to electronically position the cast iron table to thickness boards from 5mm to 300mm (12”) thick by a ½ HP motor. Simply enter the desired height in imperial or metric measurement or press the up/down buttons to reach your desired setting.

The electrical control cabinet uses very high quality components which are CSA certified for use in schools and Canadian commercial operations. The Scorpion CWI-P0721HC 21” thickness planer is a machine built to be a work horse in any commercial environment for years of high production needs.

New from our industrial factory in Italy, the DustFX 3HP Vortex Cyclone Dust Collector has been designed and built with unmatched air filtration performance at a very quiet operational level of 70db . This very technically advanced machine is made for serious woodworking shops, educational facilities, and industrial environments. Engineered for woodworkers who demand a cleaner, safer workspace, this advanced two-stage cyclone system provides both power and efficiency with a new dust collection technology not seen in small footprint cyclones. Introducing VORTEX.

At the heart of the CWI-DCP350H-VC is our Vortex-design dust collection system in a cyclonic dust collector. With traditional cyclone dust collectors, the dust is pulled into the main inlet of the cyclone by the suction created by the impeller/fan. The air/dust then circulates inside the cyclone causing the majority of heavy dust to fall into the collection drum below the cyclone itself. The really fine particles of dust then flow into the filtration area of the machine and drop into a small collection bag/box attached to the filter. The inside of the filter then collects the dust from making its way back into the atmosphere. There are varying degrees of filtration efficiency available including Hepa rated filtration used by DustFX. The filter is cleaned either manually or automatically with paddles inside the filter or by manually using compressed air outside of the filter.

The new DustFX Vortex machine uses a newly designed dust stream through the cyclone. Dust enters the machine into the cyclone area similar to other cyclones, with the heavier chips and dust dropping into the dust collection bin. This is where Vortex changes the technology. Instead of the fine particles of dust now entering the inside of the filtration area, they are instead sent through a chamber down to a secondary collection bin at the back of the machine below the filtration area. The filtration area is completely enclosed and houses the Italian-made H13 HEPA washable polyester canister filter. With the Vortex design of dust flow, the inside of the filter is the clean-air side of the filter, causing all of the dust to stay on the outside of the filter area. The Vortex then uses a pneumatic “Auto-Clean” automated filter cleaning system, which features a compressed air tank at the top of the machine that is manually activated with the push of a button on the side-mounted control panel to throw a large blast of air into the filter, blowing the dust off the outside of the filter, down into the secondary collection bin.

The H13 HEPA canister filter is capable of removing 99.97% of dust down to 0.3 microns and 100% of dust .5 micron and larger. Not only does the H13 filter offer exceptional filtration, the air flow is vastly superior with 172 sq ft of filtration area. (16 Cubic Meters)

The Dust FX Vortex also features a negative pressure primary dust collection bin which is mechanically connected to the cyclone. No hoses and clamps to undo for emptying the dust bin. A negative pressure dust bin is utilized to hold down the replaceable dust bags inside the bin so they don’t get pulled into the machine before getting full of dust. Both collection bins feature quick-release clamps for fast, mess-free emptying, and the primary bin’s reusable plastic liner makes disposal even easier. Despite its power, this machine operates at a remarkably quiet 70 dB at 10 feet.

The unique, heavy structural steel frame ensures rock-solid stability while four locking heavy-duty multi-directional casters provide easy mobility around the shop. Built with CSA-certified electrics and a locking safety switch for secure operation, the DustFX 3HP Vortex Cyclone Dust Collector combines industrial-grade durability with advanced fan design, heavy-duty structural steel frame and unmatched filtration performance in a small footprint.
