SawStop Saws are the most advanced saws in the world. Each saw is equipped with a safety system that detects when someone accidentally contacts the spinning saw blade, and then stops the blade in milliseconds.

The Professional Cabinet Saw (PCS) is an extremely well built table saw for use in education or home shops for customers looking for unparalleled safety and quality of saw. The PCS saws have three different fence options and two motor options. When ordering your saw first choose the motor size you wish to purchase and then the fence cutting capacity which will work best in your shop.

A fast-acting brake stops the blade when contact is detected. The brake includes a heavy-duty spring to push a block of aluminum, called a brake pawl, into the teeth of the blade to stop the blade from spinning. The spring is held in compression by a fuse wire until contact is detected. When contact is detected, the system sends a surge of electricity through the fuse wire to burn the wire and release the spring. The spring pushes the brake pawl into the teeth of the spinning blade, and the teeth cut into the aluminum and bind, thereby stopping the blade. All this happens in about 5 milliseconds, or 1/200th of a second. At the same time, the angular momentum of the blade causes the blade to retract below the table and the power to the motor is shut off. The optional brake cartridges are single-use components that must be changed if the brake is ever activated. Changing a brake cartridge is fast and easy, no more complicated than changing the blade.

A very nice blade guard designed specifically for the Professional Cabinet Saw features independent lateral sides to minimize exposure to the blade. It retains a low profile to allow for cuts as narrow as 3/4 of an inch. Riving knife minimizes kickback and provides protection during non-through cuts. We double-check the saw every time you turn it on with a diagnostic self-check which runs when you start the saw to ensure all systems are ready to detect an accident. If any problem is detected, the system will not allow the saw to start. Sometimes you have your hands full and really need to stop the blade. Our large start/stop paddle with hands-free shutoff can be pushed with your knee allowing you to safely stop the blade.

Never worry again about someone using your saw when you’re not around. The main power switch with lockout key prevents unauthorized users from operating the saw. When the power goes out, the saw stays off. The safety system won’t allow the motor to restart automatically when the power comes back on.

Left-tilting blade prevents wood from binding against the fence. A sophisticated dust shroud draws sawdust away from the blade and funnels it through a 4″ tube to a port at the rear of the cabinet. Effectively redirects dust away from the saw even when not attached to a dust collection system. Quick-release, zero-clearance insert provides support throughout the cut reducing tear out and chip out. The tool-free quick release makes removing the insert for blade or guard changes a breeze. A positive latching mechanism lets you know the insert is securely in place.

The 27″ deep extension table is compatible with popular after-market accessories including a router table extension.

Ample and easy access inside the cabinet. Three doors in the cabinet make it easy to get to all adjustment points on both sides of the trunnion.

Inconvenience is the enemy of safety. We made it easy to change between blade guard and riving knife with our tool-free blade guard quick change mechanism. Operators can remove the insert and make blade changes quickly with no tools required, minimizing disruptions to workflow. The safety bypass switch allows users to cut conductive material without activating the brake. Since the bypass has to be turned on every time the blade is started, you don’t have to remember to turn off the bypass system when you’re done.

Precise elevation changes made easy. The gas-assisted vertical elevation system is located close to the internal structure’s center of gravity, making fine-tuning smooth and easy. The elevation system operates on a vertical slide rather than on an arc providing you with repeatability and consistent alignment. Blade height is proportional to handle turns at all elevations. Mechanical adjustment points on the trunnion enable the operator to make micro adjustments, ensuring exact blade alignment at all bevel angles.
